What type of information is collected?

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, email address and credit card information.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

 

What do we do with this information?

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information, payment details, comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

We collect  Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

  2. To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and support;

How do we store, use, share and disclose ‘site visitors' personal information?

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.  

 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery, or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Payment

The website has two main payments. The first is as a EFT payment where you will make a payment and send through the proof of payment, together with your order number. The second method is a variety of payment options via the PayFast payment system.

We under no circumstances keep any data about your bank account detail. When you pay us via EFT (electronic funds transfer) only your bank knows your details – we never see it. We only receive on our statements the amount that you have paid and the reference you’ve used, to tie the payment with the order. If you decide to make use of our PayFast payment gateway option, you will see that you’re moved away from the Root Element website to the PayFast gateway. We never receive your bank information – that is between you and PayFast and your bank. PayFast is the number one payment gateway system in South Africa.
